Building in the Community- Event

Need FREE labour to repair your community building?

Come to the Building in the Community event on Friday 18th May to find how to access free labour while supporting your community.

Cornwall College and Vital Venues are working together to provide supervised work placements to repair and help maintain village halls, community centres and other community buildings across Cornwall.

General repairs, painting & decorating, kitchen installations, certain landscaping and most requests omitting electrical, gas and oil related tasks are all eligible for support. All works are properly scheduled, risk assessed and insured.

Through this scheme, the community building receives free labour to reduce the cost of the required maintenance or repair. The college students learn skills and, under supervision, are able to put them to practice in a real life environment.

Come along to our ‘Building in the Community’ event on Friday 18th May, where you can find out more about this project and how it can help you.

The event runs between 10am and 2pm at St Ives Guildhall, Street-an-Pol, St Ives, TR26 1SG.

The day will include information on courses and schemes provided by the college, individual advice and guidance, presentations from Cornwall College and Vital Venues, as well as celebrating the success of previous cohorts and the work they have done. Refreshments will be provided.
