Work Placement Experience Team Redecorate Centre of Pendeen

A team from the Work Skills Training Academy of Cornwall College under the direction of Steve Chaney has completely redecorated the Centre of Pendeen. The work was carried out under the work place experience scheme of Cornwall College in partnership with Job Centre Plus and Vital Venues (part of Cornwall Rural Community Council).

The objective of the Scheme is to offer the unemployed across Cornwall a worthwhile opportunity to gain a CSCS card, basic qualifications and work experience by providing work placements at Village halls and Community Centres.

The team undertook a 2 week course of instruction at the Centre and have spent the last 2 weeks completely redecorating the Centre as part of their decorating and painting work experience.

Andrew Coak, Treasurer of the Centre said how pleased the Centre was with the standard of the work and how much the Charity had benefitted from the savings in labour costs.
