Village Hall volunteers supported by Rural Community Councils (including CRCC through Vital Venues) are increasing pressure on politicians to establish an All Party Political Group with the aim of providing a champion for Village Halls in Parliament.

Momentum is gaining as more and more people contact their MPs expressing the need for representation in Parliament for Village Halls and the unique issues they face.

The idea has sprung from an initiative by BBC Radio 4’s PM programme to set up an APPG on a subject suggested by its listeners.  Reporter Becky Milligan met with Sir Peter Bottomley MP, a champion of APPGs, to discuss potential topics.
