Source FM is the community radio station for Falmouth, Penryn and all the surrounding villages.

They want to hear from local people such as volunteers who run community buildings or other community groups, within this catchment area, who are helping individuals affected by rural isolation to find ways of reducing the effect of this problem.

Source FM is offering free training and technical support to groups or individuals inside this area who are interested in producing radio programmes which challenge the issues associated with rural isolation.

Matthew Rogers of Source FM says, “We want to work with volunteers to set up a regular, ongoing radio programme where you set the agenda, you interview the politicians, and you change the policies that are affecting your lives. Don’t worry if things go to plan we will be spending lots of time with you to develop your skills as part of our team of over 100 volunteer presenters, but we’ll do all that from inside your community right where you live.”

This could be a great opportunity to raise the issues in your local community and your community building could be the hub of the action.
