Mid Cornwall Halls Speed Networking 3

On October 19th village hall and community centre volunteers met at Penwithick Community Hall to discuss funding opportunities, consultation, monitoring and evaluation.

The evening started with a pasty supper and free time for chatting and networking. Halls saw 2 speakers talk about what to consider when putting together a funding application and all the background research that is involved. The second speaker then talked about how to get that all important evidence of need through consultation and some top tips on consulting with the community and monitoring and evaluation of your project, the most important point – evaluation happens throughout not just at the end.

We would like to thank everyone who attended; we had 20 people there in total from 11 different halls across mid-Cornwall and beyond.

Feedback was very positive, with attendees telling us ‘The evening has been very informative and extremely useful’, ‘Good informative evening very useful to meet people with similar problems in running community venues’ and ‘Very useful having a central location. Help us know we are on the right track -interesting speakers and lots of useful information’.

These events were funded by the Awards for All funding (Big Lottery), the funding for this has now come to an end. However as the evening was so well received, we are already planning our next steps, stay subscribed to the Vital Venues newsletter for updates on future events.
